Inspired by real events, this tale of the supernatural explores the effects of an evil force that is exposed when circumstances favor its emergence. In the fictionalized story, a group of rich horsey types are trapped on a remote estate on the California coast during 1998’s El Niño storm; setting the stage for an ancient evil who comes out to play.
Author Bio: I am DL Lewis (Debra Lewis). I live in northern California with a cello, two indoor cats, three outdoor feral cats, and a crow named Harold. I can be reached at Kittenus Maximus at Gmail dot com and will be happy to reply to all communications whenever I can take time out from cleaning litter boxes. I’m a retired professional fine artist and horse-healer/caretaker of sorts; former polo player, former homeless person, and survivor of human trafficking. I’m disabled with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, and some years ago I choked on a piece of food and died. I was dead for quite a long while before some first responders resurrected me. I was in a coma for weeks and wasn’t expected to survive as a normally functioning human being, but I rallied, got past the months of being unable to speak clearly, read, or write and here I be: trying to put out stories that will entertain and enlighten readers. I think I will get the hang of it all some time soon … maybe.
