This book was difficult for an old geezer of seventy to write. It’s not like my usual stuff. In here I talk about those magic things that happen to us all but which most of us too quickly forget. And which we may want to forget, for not all are pleasant experiences. That said, my experiences (and those of people who chose to confide in me) were informative, ennobling and have affected my life in a positive way. HaShem (i.e., God) gave me these magic moments (or commissioned others to do so) to support and guide me through a fairly long life, a life that certainly has had its share of vicissitudes.
While reading this little book, I suspect your memory will be teased to the point of recalling something similar happening in earlier days. Of course, if you are a callow youth wet behind the ears and have not felt the hand of Providence, not to worry, there’s time.
But what if you don’t think you ever had any? In that case, you could think the book is all B.S. Well, if you’re a mensch, HaShem may have felt you didn’t need Divine guidance and correction. HaShem may feel you’re fine they way you are.
On the other hand, if you are a total rotter; HaShem may be saying, “Why waste my time on this hump. He won’t listen anyway.” Or maybe he will take the time; after all, history is rife with examples of people who swerved off bad and nasty paths. It’s called Grace.
In any case, such magic moments will refocus your energies on something other than the mundane and tedious toils of everyday life.
I hope you enjoy the book.
