“Future generations will wonder about us, but they will have very great difficulty knowing about us.”
Vint Cerf, Google vice-president, Feb. 2015.
This is a collection of stories from some other people’s lives. Ordinary people. Perhaps people like you, perhaps not.
Sadly, there must be so many tales of our long-gone friends’ and families’ lives that may have been told, but have now vanished, evaporated into the ether. Unless one can record or store ‘events’ to a rememberer, and so enable their promulgation, communication, recollection, recounting and sharing, if you will, with other ‘rememberers’, they will eventually be lost forever.
Of course a rememberer could equally be a book, a piece of paper, or a Kindle eBook Reader or similar device, and so the concept of “Some Other People’s Lives” came into being, where we mere ‘drops in the ocean’ can take the opportunity to enable our stories to be shared by other rememberers, to ‘make our mark’ if you like, our stories being further acknowledged and remembered in this ocean of humankind.
