THE BLUE PLANETS WORLD SERIES
Earth finally receives a message from space:
“You only live on land. Allow us to live in the seas.”

Rison will implode soon. They desperately need a new blue planet, a water planet.
But Earth is crowded!
Will humans be able to open their hearts to an alien race?

SLEEPERS, Book 1

Could there be alien sleeper cells on Earth?

A rogue militia.
A diabolical sabotage.
Is an alien teen is the only hope for either blue planet?

Sleepers is the first book of an exciting science fiction trilogy that forces a dying world to beg for refuge on Earth. A test-tube baby, fifteen-year-old Jake Rose is half human and half alien. After living with his mother on Rison for most of his life, he finally comes to Earth to live with his human father’s grandparents on Bainbridge Island in Puget Sound.

His mother, Dayexi Quad-de is Rison’s ambassador to Earth. She’s tasked with finding Risonians a new home on Earth in a peaceful manner. Jake accidentally discovers that Earth’s elite ELLIS forces are tying to sabotage Mt. Rainier and make it explode so that they can blame it on the Risonian aliens. Can Jake stop them in time or will they ruin the Risonians chances at a refuge on Earth?

Fans of Ender's Game will find a compelling story which asks the hard question: can we share our Earth with others? Fast-paced and exciting, this is a fast read. Join Jake and the Risonian team as they fight for the survival of their race.

ALSO IN THE BLUE PLANETS WORLD

Sirens, Book 2 (coming Fall, 2017) is the continuing story in a science fiction trilogy. When aliens beg refuge on Earth, they ask only for a home in the seas. But what if Earth’s oceans aren’t empty? The Phoke, the mer men and women of Earth have remained hidden for centuries. But a Risonian water-borne illness forces them to come out of hiding and take a place at the negotiation table.

Pilgrims, Book 3 (coming Winter, 2017)is the exciting conclusion of an epic science fiction trilogy that pits Risonians and Earthlings against inevitable implosion of a planet. A small team from Earth travels to Rison to find the cure for a water-borne disease that threatens the Phoke, the mermen and mermaids of Earth. But Rison’s implosion is pending. In a rush against time, they must deal with the politics of desperate men and the tricks of a dying planet. Will they find the cure and escape in time?

ENVOYS, Prequel

Envoys, Prequel is the short story of the first contact with the Risonians on their Cadee Moon Base. The ambitious naval officer Blake Rose joins the team as the comparative biology specialist. He's the first to shake hands with a Risonian, Dayexi Quad-de, who immediately captures his heart. Still, he has a job to do: protect Earth from aliens.

FROM THE AUTHOR

Q: Why did you write this book?

A: I wrote a children's picture book called, Abayomi, the Brazilian Puma, which was about an orphaned puma cub. In researching the story, I found that the puma family lived within sight of skyscrapers. Yet, the farmer who owned the land where the mother puma was killed had never seen a puma. They were wild and nocturnal.

The more I thought about it, the more I realized that the environmental questions for the next generation will be vastly different.

Before: The environmental goals were to preserve habitat for wild creatures.
Next Generation: The next generation will find that we have, by and large, lost the battle for habitat. For them, the question will be, can we find ways to safely share our environment with wild creatures?

Science fiction is speculative fiction. It allows an author to speculate or to ask, "What if?" It can deal with some of the most pressing ideas of a generation. I wanted to ask the next generation if they'd do better than the previous. Will you be able to share Earth with other species (including our own wildlife species!). But, of course, I wanted to do it in an exciting, and compelling way. Fiction allows me to tell a story about interesting characters who struggle with this question.

Q: There's a lot of science-related stuff in this book. For example, there's the question of controlling a black hole's pull. Is that just a bunch of pseudo-science?

A: I'm glad you asked! I want my science fiction to be based on the possibilities of science. No, things I mention aren't currently possible, such as interstellar travel. However, I consulted volcanologists, physicists and other scientists for the science in the book. As one scientist said, "The explanations are plausible enough to make graduate students argue about it."
