Sir Walter Raleigh

James Baldwin was an american editor and prolific writer, mostly known as the children's author in the subjects of legends, mythology, biography. He wrote over thirty books about famous people in history and retold classical stories. All of his tales have the educational or literary value, so his literary activity had a considerable influence on the reading of American youth in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. “Sir Walter Raleigh” is a short story, entered in the collection of Fifty Famous Stories, published in 1896. The story tells about the brave and noble man whose name was Walter Raleigh, and his fine deeds, which made him a knight and favorite of the Queen of England.
