Know Ye Not That You Are The Temple Of The Living God Synopsis
By Doug Vermeulen
We are introduced to the personal aspects of the symbolic meaning of Tabernacle/Temple furniture and fittings. They are linked to our personal life in equivalent form, and thus show how it is we can become a living, walking, talking temple of the Living God with the Father, Son and Holy Spirit indwelling! The symbolic meanings of furniture and fittings in the Tabernacle Temple are looked at in considerable detail. Accurate graphic pictures are also provided.
In this Book we will look at
•How Christians are “the temple of the Living God.”
•The Lords Prayer and its connection to the Tabernacle/Temple.
•How our lives become a living `Lord’s Prayer`
•How our spirit `person` - spirit, soul and body may enter into direct “fellowship with God--- 7 Steps to “Glory”.
Christ's human body was also described as a temple - `Jesus answered them,
"Destroy this temple, and I will raise it again in three days."....But the temple he had spoken of was his body.John 2:19,21.
Likewise it can be shown that we ourselves – Christian’s bodies - enjoy the privilege of serving as a temple [house, household of the living God]
Don't you know that you yourselves are God's temple and that God's temple and that God's Spirit lives in you? If anyone destroys God's temple, God will destroy him; for God's temple is sacred, and you are that temple.1 Corinthians 3:16,17.
What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said: "I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people."2 Corinthians 6:16.
Once again we see the idea of a house or household being expressed and elucidated; this thought is continued in the verse below.
...you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.1 Peter 2:5.
The five meetings [Book 3] form a pattern for a way of life in God's kingdom, and are not rituals, but are a means to train us to function with God's patterns in our daily lives, and are given their fulfillment in this book. The function there is to train and equip the saints
* The Covenant meeting is under the care of the apostolic anointing.; and also to keep the saints focused on the symbolic Ark of the Covenant in the Holy of Holies.
* The Prayer meeting is under the care of the prophetic anointing. and also keep the saints focused on the symbolic Table of Shewbread in the Holy Place.
The Worship meeting is under the care of the pastoral anointing. and also keep the saints focused on the symbolic Altar of Incense in the Holy Place.
* The Good News meeting is under the care of the evangelical anointing. And also to keep the saints focused on the symbolic Gate and Brazen Altar in the courtyard.
* The Bible Study is under the care of the teacher anointing. And also to keep the saints focused on the symbolic Brazen Laver and Golden Candlestick.
The whole result of all 5 meetings will be to enable the saints to live righteous lives on a daily basis as symbolised in the white linen [symbolic meaning righteousness] of the fence in the Tabernacle of Moses.
The question always is whether it is possible to become a living, walking, Temple of the Living God?
This book highlights the ways in which we become a living, walking Temple of the Living God.
Book 9 in this series covers the personal aspects of the symbolic meaning of Tabernacle/Temple furniture and fittings. They are linked to our personal life in equivalent form, and thus show how it is we can become a living, walking, talking temple of the Living God with the Father, Son and Holy Spirit indwelling!
