Beth Sullivan and her son have spent the past fourteen years alone. After her first husband walked out of her life and disappeared off the face of the earth, Beth truly believed she could never let herself love again. Hurt and alone she has raised her son, building a wall around herself so she could never be hurt like that again. Mike Donovan, a widower, spent the last two years mourning the death of his wife. His children told him it was time he moved on but it was easier said than done when you had loved someone a lifetime. He meets Beth Sullivan as she travels to Manitoulin Island for a summer holiday. Little do either know they are destined to be neighbours. What begins as friendship, quickly blossoms into romance.
