Seasons of a Boy recounts two Christmases of an eleven-year-old boy. For a youngster, there are seasons beyond spring, summer, fall, and winter. Danny’s world revolves around the Christmas season, fishing season, growing from a boy into a young man, and in the end, the season of giving. He is joined in his misadventures by his two boyhood pals, his girl crush, and an old codger.

Sometimes funny, often heartwarming, this story is based in Leavenworth, Washington, during 1965–66. Winters are long in this mountain valley, and back then, snow was a boy’s greatest asset. Leavenworth is still famous for its Christmas Lighting Festival and German Bavarian charm.

Through a child’s eyes, the world is smaller, scarier, and more magical, with Christmas being the culmination of all things good. Danny’s greatest gift was not one he requested or ever expected, but it became his most lasting. Some gifts cannot be wrapped but are still meant to be unwrapped.
