He thought about how similar he was to the Scroll of Eden, ancient, wrinkled and forgotten. It represented an old hope, he was himself at one time, the hope of the people, “the swordsman of the gods.” he was once called. He led an army against the giants, defeated them, sent the few that survived back into hiding. Mostly legend now, he was hardly talked about by the descendants of those that once praised him.
The Scroll of Eden is a map from Adam to his son Seth, leading to the Garden of Eden. Written in the ancient language, Shamal had only set his eyes on the scroll once. He spoke and read the archaic language well. A simple tongue, with beautiful syllables, meant to be sung. But the old language was as forgotten as the scroll, as himself.
Now years later, the scroll that has changed hands through seasons of kingdoms and wars, is being hunted. Shamal must destroy the scroll before the evil that seeks it, finds it, and finds the garden. In the garden, is the tree in which its fruit offers eternal life, immortality to the one who tastes the fruit. They would become godlike, and unstoppable.
