When the author embarked on her extended vacation to Great Britain she promised to share her experiences with friends and family by posting photos online. Moved by the beauty of the country and the richness of her experiences, she began to share through the written word as well. Her blogs soon gathered a captivated following, and so the seeds for this book were sown.

Initially conceived as a short, literature-inspired tour, Ms. Rothstein’s itinerary evolved into a three-month adventure of a lifetime. To her surprise and delight, the extended duration allowed for a deeper experience gained by slowing her pace and taking the time to let life happen.

The author shares, vividly and humorously, accounts of the places she visited on her travels through Scotland. The inspiration she draws from her journey—as well as the breathtaking photographs—will motivate others to follow in her path. She also offers a thoughtful and practical guide to planning an extended trip, from how to set up an itinerary to packing a three-month wardrobe in a single suitcase.

Traveling at the speed of everyday life, Ms. Rothstein accomplishes something we all desire—making ourselves at home on the road.

Impressive first-hand experiences - fun!

I love this ebook. Filled with expressive stories of sites, people, culture, and history. I felt I was traveling with her. First hand observations and perspectives of many of the best sites to be seen around Scotland. Insightful entries, many related to culture and history. Liked the convenient hyperlinks to other related entries and literature. Extremely comprehensive advice - either for extended, slow travel, or quick trips.

Scotland at the Speed of Life

The beauty of this book is the combination of lively prose and outstanding photographs that make personal the adventure of travel. I love the way you can navigate from the descriptive page to pertinent information, like a map. This book was a revelation of how to get the most out of travel. Faced with planning an extended time for travel, where would you start? I would buy Mrs. Rothstein’s book just for the Toolkits chapter. Buy the book and judge for yourself. It’s fantastic.

Beautiful Scotland

This little book brings me right back to Scotland. The author’s writing is wonderful. With few words she conveys the feeling of the land, climate, people and history of Scotland. Just what a travel guide should be with beautiful pictures and videos that make you smile. I thought I knew how to prepare for travel but after reading this gem of a book with the author’s guide for packing, preparing your home site and life on the road, I say she has combined Art with Science in 150 pages of fun. Look out Rick S!

A wonderful book with entertaining anecdotes and practical tips that even a well seasoned traveler could learn from. I thoroughly enjoyed "traveling" to Scotland with this book as my guide. The pictures are breathtakingly beautiful. I am now inspired to plan an extended trip of my own! 100% recommended reading!

Just like being there & experiencing it all!

I get the insights, history, subtle humor, and enjoyment, just like I’m traveling with the author. A must for anyone thinking of or wishing that they could travel. Her Toolkit is essential to any travel.
