While a young man he worked at the Proctor & Gamble Ivorydale Technical Center where he developed an optical brightener for Tide, Downy Fabric Softener and ultra-low temperature plasticizers. He recently developed a patented laser chemistry method for an asymmetrical membrane which is the heart of the water purification system used in NASA long term space flights including the ISS.
