This the the saga of 19 years of mobile camping safaris in Tanzania's National Parks.  The camping option - that is hiring Vehicle and Equipment plus Driver and Cook - was intially selected in the interests of economy, but proved the perfect choice for Natural History lovers.  These private safaris, outside the scope of organised tourism, gave 24 hr a day immersion in the African bush and resulted in some very close encounters with the inhabitatnts.

The intitally novice campers learned as time went on to select some 'Special' Campsites, rather than busy Public ones. Drivers and Cooks, all great characters, come and go over the years, and life in Tanzania moves on with the advent of the mobile phone  bringing great social change, coupled with infrastructure improvements.
