Sacrificed to the Seaborne Ones

Every year there was a sacrifice. The small, coastal town would take a woman and cart her out by boat to an island that was only whispered in the night and never spoke of. The woman would never be human again, but the town would prosper as fish and gold lined their shores courtesy of the inhuman things that stirred beneath the waves.

This year Sophia was the sacrifice. It wasn’t something she chose but was forced upon her. And within the cold and dank cavern she would learn the fate that befell all the sacrifices that came before her. In the end, would she keep her humanity even as inhuman creatures drove her to new heights of pleasure?

Or would she carry their brood and become something else entirely?
