Ruthless

An elderly man is brutally murdered, the motive obscure, the perp a mystery. Tall, stunning Detective Liliana Gomez and partner Carl Hartunian are on the case. A novelist, his book titled Ruthless, claims to know about the killer, since the real-life event copies his novel's tale. The trail leads to two East Los Angeles Latino gangs, and their "chiefs," as betrayal and mixed loyalties are discovered. Added to the brew are the family of the murdered man; which one(s) stand to gain from the death? And the final complication: the novelist is pulled toward Liliana, who has to tread carefully between personal feelings, and her police duties. The final confrontational meeting, with all possible suspects present reveals the true culprit.
