“I am a very hard man to shock, Miss Russell, but I anticipate that I shall greatly enjoy your efforts to surprise me.”

“Oh, I intend to ensure that you do!” She laughed softly as they swayed together in time to the strains of the piano, allowing him to lead her through the dance as her fingers began to play with the knot of his tie, loosening it enough to slip her fingers underneath it to reach for the topmost button of his shirt.

“Are you so very keen to undress me, Ruby with the red, red lips?”...
