Who would have ever imagined that my brother’s hunky best friend would be lusting after me?
When I was a kid, I thought Ryan hung the moon. Most of the time he treated me like a pesky kid sister when I tried to tag along with them, or when I snuck down to his house to watch him working in his garage. At least it seemed as though he used to like me a little, anyway.
Now I needed a favor. My roommate had bailed, and I was desperate to find a place to stay for the rest of the summer so I didn’t have to move back home and listen to my dad and stepmother fighting like rabid wolverines for the next two months. Ryan was my last hope. I thought it would be the perfect chance to catch up and rebuild the relationship we’d had before he graduated from high school and more or less vanished from my life.
But although Ryan let me move into his apartment, now he’s avoiding me whenever possible and seems determined to give me the cold shoulder. I don’t get it. What had I done to make Ryan dislike me so much?
But what if the reason he’s keeping me at arm’s length isn’t because he doesn’t like me? What if it’s because he likes me too much?
