Do No Harm. Get Work Done.
For decades now, millions across the globe have applied the concepts of A Course in Miracles to find inner peace. Imagine how ACIM has changed your life. Now think how amazing it will be when your teammates use those principles to change their mindset and to work together toward common goals. Because when your team is living the "happy dream", it’s more productive and, in turn, your customers are more satisfied.
When I was introduced to ACIM in 1977, I fell in love with this moral and psychological path and ever since then, have aspired to live it. In 1986, I facilitated my first team-building workshop for a promising young computer software company. I discovered I had a passion for team building. Since then, I have facilitated more than 500 teams through hands-on workshops across the United States and in seven countries.
Because the power of forgiveness is the essential cornerstone in ACIM, it was a natural progression to Right-Minded Teamwork. The purpose of this book is to learn the basics of how to leverage ACIM principles within your team.
What is A Course in Miracles?
"A Course in Miracles is a psychological approach to spirituality where forgiveness is the central theme and inner peace is the result." Kenneth Wapnick, writer, teacher and psychotherapist.
“A Course in Miracles is a complete self-study spiritual thought system. The three-volume curriculum with text, student workbook and a teacher’s manual teaches a way to universal love and peace through forgiving others. A Course in Miracles is based on the healing of relationships and, as such, is but one of “many thousands” [M-1.4.2] of programs out there that focus on this topic. So even though its language is that of traditional Christianity, it expresses a nonsectarian, nondenominational spirituality. A Course in Miracles is a universal spiritual teaching, not a religion.” Excerpt from ACIM website.
What is Right-Minded Teamwork?
Right-Minded Teamwork is a business-oriented and psychological approach to team building where acceptance, forgiveness and adjustment are teammate characteristics and 100% customer satisfaction are the team’s results.
The ‘big idea’ behind RMT is right-mindedness.
It’s simply a conscious choice to embrace and demonstrate do-no-harm attitudes. Like ACIM, right-mindedness is grounded in the belief that your thoughts precede your behavior. So to change your outside behavior, you have to first look within at what you are thinking.
The Common Thread: Forgiveness
"He who would not forgive must judge, for he must justify his failure to forgive. But he who would forgive himself (and others) must learn to welcome truth exactly as it is." W-P2.1.1.4.4-5
Forgiveness is the cornerstone concept, what we call the ‘big idea,’ in A Course in Miracles. Every student strives to forgive in their daily lives. And so it is with Right-Minded Teammates.
Can you imagine how amazing it will be when all your teammates extend forgiveness and correct team mistakes rather than spreading attacks and becoming defensive?
When you implement Right-Minded Teamwork, you won’t have to wonder anymore.
