This is a children's story aimed at mid-age children about an 11 year old girl named Rhiannon who is growing up on her family’s farm. She lives with her grandparents and her mother. Her one desire in life is a pony of her own. She wants this pony to the exclusion of everything else. The book covers day to day adventures of farm life, animals, friendship, Native American beliefs, magic, exploring in the woods and a magical cave with amazing rooms, swimming in the Colorado River, horseback riding, dog ownership, the birth of a calf, and her best friend Dakota. While she and Dakota go about their days exploring things they save the lives of a coyote puppy, an Arabian Stallion, a Romanian King, and are busy befriending and hiding a Romanian Prince, from the King who owns and operates a carnival on the outskirts of the town near the farm. Hunting and the reasons to hunt are discussed and explored and the Prince fends off an attack by a renegade wolf pack. This is book one in a series of six or seven books. Meet Rhiannon, Dakota, and Alex and explore their world along with them.
