Jade Drake could be a typical eighteen-year-old girl. But she’s not. Her heritage places her into an alchemy background with more mystery and confusion than she likes. She leaves her grandmother’s home with her best friend and colleague, Ethan, in search of her missing father and some answers. When out on the road, they find out that they’re no longer the only ones on the hunt. They soon cross paths with two individuals from equally dangerous backgrounds, ultimately uncovering more questions and problems. Not only will they have to worry about the hybrid breed they grew up tracking down, now there is an entirely different one with which they have to fight to control. Jade finds the world she thought she knew is even more complicated than the intricately woven and secretive one her father taught her about. Now she will be forced to reconcile what she thought she knew with the circumstances unfolding at every step.
