Micala Constance has been brought up around royalty all of her life, and she has no patience for the spoiled antics of rich princes.

When her beloved uncle and the king of the tiny principality Connely asks Micala to speak to his prodigal son, she is reluctant. Only the possibility that the prince might be able to save Connely's floundering economy convinces Micala to meet the tiresome playboy.

When she does meet Prince Henry, she finds out that she's in for a lot more than she bargained for.

Henry is a hardworking, hard-playing business tycoon who has learned to embrace the capitalist system of his adopted home, the United States, despite his father's desire that he prepare to take the throne in his country. He has no interest in returning to the tiny island of his birth and dealing with an archaic socio-economic system and his disapproving father.

But something about Micala Constance makes him change his mind, and what begins as an innocent flirtation moves to something much hotter and much more intense very quickly.

As Micala runs the public relations aspect of Henry's tour through Connely, he begins to see the sensitive, articulate, sexy woman she tries so hard to hide behind her prim and proper facade. And Micala begins to see that the fantastically rich and powerful prince may just have a heart of gold after all.

They have to work through old grudges, rival romantic interests, and a possible future neither prepared for to find their happily ever after.
