As a child, Dinah Geof-Craigs wanted nothing more than to be a world-famous, super-powered metahuman, like the colorfully-clad heroes on TV and in magazines. But when puberty came and went with no grand abilities materializing, she resigned herself to being “normal.” That is, until her sixteenth birthday, when her much-admired brother revealed that he, in fact, had metahuman abilities.
At first, Dinah was thrilled that her already cool brother was now super cool. But, to her shock, he had no intention to do anything with his abilities.
In time, Dinah grew to resent the fact that he didn’t appreciate his gifts, choosing not to use them, while she was denied her life’s dream.
Her resentment guided her on her life’s path: to correct Mother Nature’s oversight. She would become a brilliant geneticist and learn to do what no one had yet been able to do: induce the meta-mutation in herself to fulfill her childhood ambition.
Her brother might not want the fame, the glory, the adulation… but she did. And she was damn well going to have it.
Even if it killed her.

Reckoning is the memoir of Dinah Geof-Craigs, known to the public as Dynamistress. It is the story of the woman behind the mask, with all her imperfections intact. Her story continues in Redemption (to be released in spring, 2015) and concluded in Renaissance (to be released in fall, 2016).
