Brad Hamilton, 45, V. P. of a large corporation in Chicago is driven to make it to the top of the corporate ladder where he'll be among the few who can play real monopoly with other corporate executive officers,(CEO's)creating mergers, fighting hostile takeovers, and more, in the games that top executives play with real buildings and businesses. While climbing the ladder of success he struggles with two romances. Connie DeVeau, 38, V. P. of a Bank in Cleveland and Allison Connley, 35, an office worker in a Chicago brokerage house know nothing of the other, nor that he will soon feel compelled to make a choice.  One phone call sets off a chain of events that dramatically alters his life, and many around him.  Denton, age 66 sells out his business and retires. His wife dies suddenly. He is slow to adjust and his friends urge him to find other interests than just golf. He reluctantly decides to help people who are struggling and need financial advice. This leads to meeting a young woman of 24 with a handicapped child. He becomes enamored. Her ex-boyfriend is killed and George Denton becomes a suspect. He finds he has gotten into more than he bargained for with this young woman.
