Prelude in Black and Green is the story of a Jewish, middle class family in Bucharest, Romania, in the 1930s. It is a time of unrest and transition. Life is still enjoyable, but clouds gather at the horizon. Trapped in this changing landscape, the STEIN family and their relatives try to cope with the events and make judicious decisions for the future. But character clashes between the members of this group and different attitudes towards their situation, as well as unexpected occurrences often interfere with the smooth completion of their plans.
