Poverty in Third World

Poverty is the state of having a little money with which to buy one’s basic needs like food, clothing and shelter. Poverty is a condition in which a person lacks the essentials to enjoy a minimum standard of life and well-being considered acceptable in society. This book identifies the States severely plagued by poverty in the third world. In brief, about 95% of global poverty has concentrated in East Asia, South Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa. It analyzes the causes of poverty in the third world. They include unemployment, low income, civil unrests, adverse ecology, natural disasters, corruption and poor education. It appraises the effects of poverty on the third world. They include high crime rate, rise in social vices, rise in brain drain, low education and less development. It lays emphasis on the solutions to poverty. It offers several strategies that can be used to conquer poverty in the third world. It discusses how to reduce poverty to a barest minimum. And it remains to be seen if we can have the desire to apply ourselves to this end.
