Similar in scope and concept to Love Story and The Bridges of Madison County, though it may aspire to more, Pink Collar Blue is the story of boy (politician) meets girl (pink-collar, upwardly mobile, middle-class advertising assistant). Boy loves girl. Girl hates politics but loves boy more than she hates politics. They do not live happily ever after. Boy wins election. Girl's stalking ex-boyfriend doesn't approve. Ex-boyfriend gets more than he bargained for. But boy and girl’s political and personal lives are turned upside down in the bargain. Girl may have to learn to love politics after all. The first part of the story is their romance, followed by some political intrigue, followed by drama at city hall, and, finally, personal drama. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry. As the cover and internal blurbs say, “Bill Haas’s many talents now include writing about the things he knows best: love and politics. …It may be the best book you’ll read this year.” “A charming read with deep meaning…told with ruthless honesty and understated humor. Pink Collar blue is good love, good politics and good drama.” “Riveting, touching, smart, poignant, charming – unlike Bill.” “A fun read. A good book. I enjoyed my time getting to know the characters. …Anxiously waiting for Bill’s next book.” “I couldn’t stop turning the pages.” “Fine story and fine writing.” “A refreshing optimism and vision for urban politics.” “I was captivated by the political intrigue woven into Bill Haas’s first novel. The politician was one we all dream of electing: honest and idealistic, yet pragmatic enough to get the job done!”
