It's strange how the disparate, the improbable and the impossible sometimes interweave.

A fresh dead body in a centuries-old military uniform which can't be explained.

A former USAF fighter pilot researching in Canada for his PhD at Columbia University. Historic Fortress Louisbourg in Nova Scotia, faithfully rebuilt in every detail, and staffed with re-enactors playing the parts of the original 1745 inhabitants.

A beautiful but mysterious young lady from Saint-Malo, France, who speaks with ancient idioms – but disappears every night when the fortress closes.

It all impacts in a hazardous time warp between eras when the 21st century collides with the 18th through an epoch-suspended doorway. Harrowing war-time Atlantic crossings in ancient sailing ships; venerable Saint-Malo; modern medicine taken to the past; assassins; the revered philosopher Voltaire; a desperate need for an aircraft back in 1755, but that's impossible ...?  All surrounded by a timeless love story. The past may give birth to the future, but the future holds her secrets from the past – until someone carries them back – through a mystical doorway which is a passage to the past..
