It was hard for Liza to tell whether Tom was in love with her or he preferred Camilla who was the talk of all the boys who had come for the palm holidays. Tom however seemed confused in making a choice between Liza and Camilla. He wanted Liza for love making and the urge to be with Camilla wherever he was hunted him the more he did not succeed to have her. Meanwhile, Camilla who was unaware about Tom’s affairs with Liza and saw him as her sole possession, she loved to see him beg and follow her around foolishly all in the name of love. The holidays was short enough for the three of them to suffer in ignorance and once Tom could take no more of her nags and disrespect, it was so that Liza had found out about Tom and Camilla and her decision was rigid. Tom was leaving Camilla to settle down with Liza but just as he broke Camilla’s heart, his heart too is broken in turn by his effort to reconcile with Liza. It was so however hard to love back the one who truly loved him and in that way, the three of them had a bitter lesson to pick out of love. And Liza, she found love in Rodrigue and the difference was quite clear.
