Outside the Office

When the heart yearns for someone it can't have, it's painful.

And in my case, it was excruciating.

Milo Vincent and I had worked together for nearly a year when I realized just how much he meant to me. My heart called out to him, hoping he'd hear its plea for his affection. The problem was: he was deaf to it because another held his attention.

Not wanting to do anything to jeopardize his relationship, I muffled my inner-screams with a blanket of friendship so only I could hear the tormented agony of loving the unattainable.

But was it love? Could I love a man I'd known so short a time? I had my doubts ... until he kissed me.
