This is the memoir of Annie Stevens and her life growing up in Southern California set in the 1960's. With an alcoholic father and a mother who didn't want children, Annie, a product of a failed abortion, struggled with her siblings to find love, compassion, and purpose in a home that displayed none of that. Physical and mental abuse was the daily reality, so suicide became the focus for Annie at age 14, but God had other plans. Her journey takes her and her son to Northern California where Annie learns to drive a tow truck to support themselves for 8 years. It becomes an adventure in the early 80's that stands against the common knowledge of the day that "Women don't drive tow trucks." Read how Annie escaped her life at home at age 16 intending to live a new life, but instead becoming a teen parent and learning the true meaning of grace as she raised her son, breaking the cycle of abuse and loving life to the fullest.
