One Hundred Haikus,
A collection of 100 Haikus (101 if you include the full book title). Including a very basic introduction to the poetic form of Haiku. Tony Hibberd uses the rigid Haiku structure rules of 3 lines of 5,7,5 syllables to communicate mini narratives to his readers. Arranged alphabetically by title, each of the 3 line wonders are written to invoke varying emotions in the reader. From poignant through thought provoking via humorous to downright silly, this book is designed to keep the reader on their mental toes.
In keeping with the style of his other poetry books, no subject is too large, small or obscure to receive his slightly off centre observations. After all how many other people have included Salieri, Beethoven, Tutankhamun, Macbeth, mosquito larvae, oysters and space in the same book, that alone without including Lorazepam, leroux, Dr.Doolittle and Achluophobia as narrative content. If you are a poetic purist, it may be well to pass this book by, but you would never know what you're missing.
For the rest of humanity. please enjoy.
