Jess is a young girl who has been punished.
She has been sent to work at the Railway Historical Society as a part of a community work order, to paint trains. There she meets the old school Barry, who is obsessed with trains, runs the place and who has nobody now that his funding has been cut during the spiralling crisis.
Economic collapse has come to the city. Petrol prices sky rocket, curfews are in place and rioters swarm. Military law is declared as the raids on police stations become more and more common.
The streets are dangerous, and the old man and young girl will need to stick together. When things inevitably come to a head, escape from the city is almost impossible.
But they might have an ace up their sleeve...
