The book covers important provisions of major laws and has been drafted in lucid language, in question-answer format, which makes reading of complex legal issues, a pleasure. It was not possible to form separate question-answer on every individual issue. The boxes, beside the question-answer, contain, in addition to the Sections and names of Acts which comprise the answer, such other legal provisions too, which are recommended to go through, if a deeper insight on that particular issue is needed. It has been our attempt to address the unfounded bias of a common man against law, legal system and law enforcement authorities. Our effort has been to further the cause of our Constitution intending at social, economical and political justice.
This book is a humble contribution to further the noble cause of government and judiciary in taking the people from the dungeon of ignorance to temple of light. It has been our endeavour through this book to promote careful assertion of rights and dutiful performance of obligations. It will be worth mentioning here that this book is intended to make the reader legally empowered. A vigilant citizen, who is aware of the applicable law, will certainly assert his right, in case they are infringed. At the same point of time, if one is not aware of his rights, he may lose, to which he was legally entitled.
