No Wedding Pictures is a novel of 102,000 words about Gerry McMartin and Dan Williams, a young couple looking for a house within easy commuting distance of New York City. They find a large, older fixer-upper north of the city and Gerry is enthralled by her vision of the place as it might have looked a century before. In the dusty yard they find a cryptic old sign which reads “No Wedding Pictures.” After buying the house, Gerry and Dan throw a housewarming party. Among the guests is Max Luellen, an acidic, eccentric paranormal investigator who conducts a demonstration of post-hypnotic regression. Gerry is drafted as the subject, and under hypnosis, she speaks in the incredibly lost and despairing voice of a woman named Delia who seems to be trapped in a hellish netherworld. Delia’s words, spoken in an unknown tongue interspersed with English, warn that her sister Meg “Follows”, and that she’s bringing a friend - an ancient, unnamed evil friend who intends to kick ass and take souls.
