No Bullies No Way

How do you deal with bullies? Can it be done? Two cool kids at different high schools find themselves confronted by very different types of bullies. And for both of them, it’s something that’s never happened before! Surfer Mitch and mountain-biker Sue exchange very personal emails on matters at their various schools, matters that are fast spiraling out of control.

Sue moves to a high school in the country and quickly finds herself being bullied by another girl. Relentlessly bullied, in that sly and subtle way girls are specialist in. And there’s no one she can talk to about it, except her cousin Mitch.

Back at Le Sands High School, grommet Mitch and his surfing mates find themselves being leaned on by a bully as well – a dangerous bully, Kahuna Jim. Jim and his gang of goons become increasingly more nasty and more dangerous every day.

Via emails, Sue and Mitch keep each other updated. Over a distance of hundreds of miles, it’s all they can do to help one another. Sue accepts that her only option is to quit school. As for Mitch and his mates, their only choice seems to be a violent one. They have to ‘get’ the bully first, before he gets to any of them.

Both Mitch and Sue feel this shouldn’t be their problem. It’s Sue who snaps first, that is she finally gets angry enough to act. And via her outrage, she uncovers a solution that was there all along. It’s a solution that takes courage, and one that might work for Mitch too, only he has a struggle to find the courage in himself.

No one deserves to be bullied. Every person, young or old, has a right to live free from terror and abuse. This book looks at what makes bullies pursue their vendettas. And the terrible effects they have on their victims. And a way bullies can be dealt with when people have the courage and the will to do so. The bottom line is: No one should be bullied. Bullies must be stopped.
