Nelson Mandela is Not Dead, written by Joseph Godwin Ochie, a University of Nigeria trained Political Scientist, is a collection of poems in honor of late Nelson Mandela of South Africa, a legend, who according to Obama bent the ship of the world away from injustice. This hero, though dead, is forever alive for his good works are still speaking for him. He deserves global tributes. He should be a role model to the leaders with an avaricious urge in such African countries as Nigeria where such leaders have successively emerged to rape the people they are supposed to protect of their resources through pretense to democracy and appearance of legality. However, it is these unpatriotic leaders as found in Africa in general and Nigeria in particular that are dead, because their evil deeds, as the blood of Abel against his brother Cain, are speaking against them. This could be seen through the poems. A critical comparative analysis of the poem of praise on Nelson Mandela resulting from his selfless service and good works to his country, and the poems of satire and indictment on the leadership of Nigeria, which is nothing but a charade sets the record straight that Nelson Mandela is Not yet dead. The collection can be divided into praise, death, reincarnation, religion, indictment, satire, disappointment in life, love and appreciation.
