The book Mystical Twilight is a manifestation of different mazes of emotion. It fleshes out the human experience from the eyes of a poet that responds to every incident of joy, anguish, triumph & deliberation with a heart that spontaneously beats & breathes the pulse of life.

The poet reflects on a plethora of experiences ranging from war, peace, hope, childhood, innocence, fear, frustration, friendship & love. In away the book is a mystical combination of everything that spells out the poet, the life she lived, and her perception of everything around her.

About the Author

Coming from Iraq, the land of wars and paradoxes, Khayal Al Allaq has witnessed various facets of life and has also touched the beauty of literary bloom when different poets from all over the world would visit Baghdad during the annual Al-Marbid poetry festival. Being a daughter of a poet and a lover of poetry and literature, Khayal has always been taken by the beauty of poetry and inspired by her father’s poetry. Although she spent most of her years abroad, she perceives the experience of traveling as a rich opportunity to open up to new cultures and countries.  Khayal specialized in English language and literature and taught it for more than 14 years. Currently she is pursuing her PhD in educational leadership.
