My Twenty-Five Years in Provence: Reflections on Then and Now by Peter Mayle | Conversation Starters

Knopf publishing house releases the last book of the late veteran author Peter Mayle entitled My Twenty-Five Years in Provence: Reflections on Then and Now. Mayle is known for his books on his life in Provence. This book is the final volume that offers his memories of the life he lived in the South of France for the past twenty-five years. He and his wife Jennie were redirected from their planned stay in Côte d'Azur. Because of their search for sunlight, they went to Aix-en-Provence. They fell very much in love with Provence and they decided to uproot their lives in England and move there. Since then they have never looked back.

San Francisco Chronicle‘s Regan McMahon praises Mayle’s writing that he described him as  “astute at capturing the rhythm of life [in Provence].” Lila Battis for Travel and Leisure writes that My Twenty-Five Years in Provence is “a warm, nostalgia-soaked look at the place [Mayle] loved so dearly.” Maureen McCarthy for Minneapolis Star-Tribune says that this book is “[a] well-loved writer’s contented recap of a life well lived.”

A Brief Look Inside:

EVERY GOOD BOOK CONTAINS A WORLD FAR DEEPER
than the surface of its pages. The characters and their world come alive,
and the characters and its world still live on.
Conversation Starters is peppered with questions designed to
bring us beneath the surface of the page
and invite us into the world that lives on.
These questions can be used to..
