My mate Nev and me - part two.
Continuing the story.
This book covers the years from 1978 through till 1989, which is the year that my first child was born and so completes the full circle from my own story of coming into existence, and from myself entering this world of ours to the time that I myself was responsible for a life.
This story describes the warp and weft of the fabric of a slower way of life back in the 1970's and 1980's.
A way of life that has passed us by and is now gone forever.
We all grow up at some stage. Well, most of us anyway.
This is the 'growing up' stage of my young life. A time when I had to leave my troubled childhood behind me. When I had to leave a lot of the bullying that I had suffered in my life behind me, and to put on a brave face and try to begin new chapters in my life.
Not all of the bullying disappeared, as you will see in my true story.
I still suffered bullying at home. And as you will eventually see, I still have to suffer bullying even now that I am old.
This story describes my awakening into the world of girls, fun, mates and work.
If you remember life through the 1970's and 1980's, this book will bring back lots of memories for you.
The first video recorders being released into the shops.
The first C.D.'s coming out to listen to.
The change from pound notes to pound coins in our pockets.
And the music and T.V. programmes of the era.
All these are littered through the story of my developing life. All are tangled in with my memories and put down into words.
Enjoy the nostalgia.
Enjoy the 1970's and 1980's once again.
Happy reading.
