My Eye In the Storm - Katrina Close Up is a memoir of the time I spent working as a contracted disaster housing inspector for FEMA after the most devastating Hurricane of our time, Hurricane Katrina destroyed the Gulf Coast of the United States in 2005. This is my story intertwined with the stories of the victims, the destruction, disaster workers, bad politics, love, and human behavoir during a time when all aspects of life were pushed to the limit. I saw things I never thought possible; the incredible strength of Mother Nature made me realize how small and insignificant we all are in the face of a disaster of such magnitude, on this year from not only Hurricane Katrina, but also from Hurricanes Rita and Wilma as well.
