Promises can be hard to keep. But Kalen is a soldier first and soldier's follow orders. Lord Korn ordered her, and she promised, to retrieve and protect the sorceress who could help his son recover from a strange illness and stop the endless storms that flooded Korn and its villages until the Keep itself was threatened. And that is what she would do, despite her misgivings and the arduous journey to Bleak Mountain. Can Kalen keep that promise when even Lord Korn is a threat to the sorceress? And what does she discover about their relationship that makes Lord Korn both fear and hate the woman?
