In our post World War II consumer society we are taught how to be good customers rather than encouraged to be good producers who can look after ourselves. We rely on supermarkets to feed us and on pharmaceutical companies for good health rather than what we can produce in our farms and our gardens. We have lost a lot of traditional teachings, the knowledge of how and when and why is the best time to act to bring a chosen task to a successful completion. We forgot how to take responsibility for our health, our happiness, our lives. We forgot how to dance with the Moon’s energy.

We can all learn how to provide for ourselves and look after the wellbeing of our families. Understanding how to work with nature rather than battling with her can help us to live an easier life, a life in tune with natural forces that reduces our environmental impact. You have probably already done this even if you didn’t knowingly set out to be an environmental warrior. If you ever noticed that your daily needs like body care or gardening or craftwork have different results at different times, it is possible you have already naturally danced a few steps with natural energy. Moondance is an introduction as to how to dance with this lunar energy.
