MONOMONO - BANZA DIARIES VOL.1 deals with sex, death and politics in a disturbing and restless world. The past and the future, the developed and developing worlds coalesce in vignettes played out through a filter of love, relationships and human evolution. On one level it is a heartfelt love story and on another, a gradual descent into madness. This is the first of the three novels that make up THE BANZA TRILOGY.

Ghosts are everywhere you care to look. The past makes us part of forgotten people. We are remembered as fragments of time, as thoughts and images to be recalled in times of joy, sadness, celebrations, birth, death and memorials.

To some people we are priceless, to others useless, worthless or meaningless. It is always those who have vested interest in our welfare who bleed and cry when we are gone.

"You cannot draw anything serious or meaningful until you have shed the suffocating blanket of formal instruction. You need it but you must also lose it. It is only after 20 years in the pursuit of line, form and rhythm that you begin to see properly with your fingers." Eze Chimalio
