Joanna is a young lawyer, who goes for a holiday with her young niece to a small Greek coastal village.

At the stage of shaping her future life according to the habits and traditions of her middle class family, the only way she seems to know, she encounters a middle aged architect, Raymond, who despite his marriage, leads a liberal and rather bohemian life.

After a while they fall in love, and start an affair that will challenge deeply their so far style of life and beliefs, with little hope though of continuing with a future together.

However, near the end of their holiday, a tragic event puts an end to many things around them.

What Raymond has taught her as the real meaning of life, haunts her from now onwards, changing completely all previously held rules, with unforeseen consequences.
