“Mama Lisa’s Tribe” is a story that blends blood family and close friends who are like family. As we follow Lisanne Mills, a brilliant, philosophical mother, we learn about the things that matter (and things that don’t) through the eyes of the young adults she calls her own. Mama Lisa is a single mother struggling to help her two kids get through college and on to living in the world around them. At forty years old, she's busy with raising the kids in her "Tribe" when a new man enters her life. While her son and daughter and their friends begin to navigate the looming ‘adult world’ from adolescence, into college, her ‘other kids’ face different, modern worries. A potential jail term; an engagement in peril; a serial killer and the agent who brings him down; a triumph over fear on a grand scale; and love where you least expect it.
