Máscara Gigantesca: Kaiju Slayer A Short Story

Máscara Gigantesca is the story of Pedro Sanchez; a young man with a new wife and infant who embarks on a career as a luchador. He trains under a legendary masked wrestler who offers Pedro his mask with the warning that whoever wears the mask is chosen by the Powers that Be to be the Protector of Mexico. Pedro accepts the mask and after his first match a madman appears who threatens to destroy Mexico using kaiju. The madman calls down a giant winged serpent to attack the city. Pedro's mask begins to glow and when he puts it back on he finds himself transformed into a giant. Pedro battles the monster and many kaiju drawing the attention of the local media and the people. Pedro soon becomes famous for his battles with the kaiju. He earns a match with the top wrestler in the world and the most influential wrestling promoter in the world offers Pedro a choice. He will give a Pedro a lifetime contract worth tens of millions of dollars if Pedro agrees to give him exclusive rights to broadcast Pedro's battles with the kaiju.The promoter also warns Pedro that if he turns down the offer that he will never wrestle in Mexico again. Soon after the offer is made and before Pedro decides what to a do a massive kaiju attacks and Pedro is faced with deciding if the Powers that Be would still consider him worthy to be a hero if he was to accept money for fighting monsters and he must also weigh this decision against the future of his family.
