As she stood waiting for the crowd to clear after getting off the bus, her gaze traveled to the opposite side of the street where she saw the man in her thoughts standing on the corner. She drank in his dark looks and felt her heart beating wildly, feeling as if it was ready to jump out of her chest.
When he glanced at her, she felt as if she was going to faint. He had finally noticed her and she wasn’t sure how to react. For the longest time he continued to watch her as she drank in everything about him.
Tara’s lips felt dry, so she pressed her tongue against them to wet the surface. She silently willed him to join her and hoped her wish would come true. Please, please, she thought silently.
As he started to cross the street, Tara couldn’t move because it looked as if he was heading straight for her and she was finding her wish coming to full fruition.
Within seconds, they faced each other at the bus stop. She glanced up into a set of midnight eyes that held the look of excitement and mystery.
Tara found something bold in the dark gaze locked with hers. Her green eyes studied the rugged face, with the overlong black hair touching the collar of his jacket and the wide shoulders. His full mouth, with the sensuous lips, drew her gaze like a magnet. She couldn’t drag her eyes away.
Silly thoughts raced through her head wondering how it would feel to have that mouth possess hers in a kiss.
A yearning raced through her and she hoped she didn’t reveal the emotion in her eyes.
Several seconds passed before she could drag her gaze away from his paralyzing hold. With sheer effort, she looked down at the sidewalk wondering when he would move and let her pass. But, it didn’t look as if he wanted to move aside.
