LONG WALK HOME really touched and gripped me. A great bittersweet story of light and shadow about growing up in a time gone by. I loved it.” – Joe R. Lansdale

Ten-year-old Trenton O’Rourke’s life was changed forever during the summer of 1944. He and his family lived on a fading farm like many others in the small town of Angel Point, Mississippi. With family, friends and neighbors fighting overseas in World War II, and rising racial tensions back home, what was normally a routine summer turned into a nightmare of murder and loss, trying to cope with hard times to survive and the surprise learning experiences of growing up. Ultimately, a chance encounter with an unexpected stranger forever changes Trenton’s life.
