A collection of six plays professionally performed but not yet published. They are:
Living on Mars
Daddy the 8th
You Want It, Don’t You, Billy?
Truganinni Inside Out
Auntie and the Girl
Mirror, Mirror
Unlike the other Bill Reed plays, none of these works collected here have been published by leading Australian book publishers or subsequently re-issued in print and ebook formats by Reed Independent. However, each has been professionally involved in various seasons of the Melbourne Theatre Company, the old Nimrod Theatre, and the Playbox Theatre before it became the Malthouse.
For this collection the plays have been extensively rewritten and so comprise revised versions to the titles seen on stage.
With ‘Daddy the 8th’, ‘Truganinni Inside Out’ and ‘Mirror, Mirror’, the publication of the author’s five ‘Indigenous’ plays for full- or part-indigenous casts is concluded. Of the other two plays – ‘Jack Charles is Up and Fighting’ and ‘Truganinni’ – the latter is published separately.
