Guy de Maupassant was born in the castle de Miromesnil near Dieppe. His father - Gustave de Maupassant - who belonged to the aristocratic old Lorraine, settled in Normandy, married Laura le Poitevin. In the same year Maupassant released collection of poetry "Poems» («Des vers»). During his life, he wrote many works that remain popular today.
