This book is a practical guide to Learning to Read Hieroglyphs and Ancient Egyptian Art. In Section 1 the student is taken through a series of lessons to learn how to translate hieroglyphs into English and to learn the sign meanings and phonetic sounds. Vocabulary and Exercises are given at the end of each lesson. Section 2 is devoted to putting the skills learned into practice by given examples of ancient hieroglyphic texts and art. The Appendix contains Answers to the Exercises.
